A bit off topic, I’m afraid, but this seemed to be the best place for my query, apologies if unsuitable. A couple of years ago I bought a a starter motor motor from a chap in New Zealand who was disposing of his late father-in-laws Austin hoard. The starter I bought was alleged to have been the spare for a round-the-world trip done, by a Kiwi, in an Austin 20. The starter is not to fit a 20, is probably American but that doesn’t really matter. My curiosity always gets the better of me and I want to know about global trip but can’t find anything on the web. I do know about the A40 one.

I am the owner of an A16 1947 BS1 and long term club member. Fitted is a Zenith 42VIS carburettor (as on A70). Unfortunately I lost the bearing plate for the acceleration pump lever, part no 010268, though that pump doen't work. Could anybody help out with that plate or old carburettor with the plate fitted? can sent picture of the part to clarify. Thanks in advance Michael

I have for sale a Hub Cap which I believe to be for an Austin A40. I acquired it about 30 years ago from a former bodyshop worker at our local Austin Morris garage. It's 10" in diameter and 2" deep with the Austin 'wings?' logo pressed into the centre. It doesn't look like it has ever been fitted to a car though given its age, it does have a little pitting on it's outer surface. The inner surface appears to have been painted in a sort of grey/green primer which could be factory? Anyway, It's time to move it on before my kids take it down off the shed wall and put it in the skip after I'm gone.

Austin Somerset for sale, was dismantled for complete renovation but loss of premises dictated that it has been in storage for 30+ years. Would class as a barn find rather than for spare parts. BMHIT certificate indicates manufacture in 1952 and green log book present from 1976. Car is located in Stranraer S.W. Scotland. i have taken photographs which are available on request, happy to pass on additional details. Any reasonable offers considered as the car has to be removed from lockup and would prefer if it went to someone with the desire to save rather than scrap it. Thanks for looking.
