ParticipantThanks for the advice Mike. I’m off work on Thursday so I’ll hopefully get a chance to look at it then.
Cheers

ParticipantThanks for all the advice everyone. I finally managed to sort it. I think it was the seals in the master cylinder that had gone. I replaced them and just manually bled the brakes. I’ve got them working and finally a more solid brake pedal. Thanks again folks. I’m sure I’ll be asking for advice again during the restoration. It’s getting there tho. I’ve got a running engine and brakes now. Watch this space ?

ParticipantThanks for the advice guys. I suspected that it was a thread problem. I’ll go with your advice then and attempt it again manually. It was dot3 I was trying to use btw. I’d seen a post elsewhere about making sure it was dot3. Thanks again for the advice. I’ll let you know how I get on. ???

ParticipantHi Pete. Thanks for the advice. I wasn’t getting a spark. I managed to trace it to the HT lead from the coil to the distributor. I’ve cleaned it up, cut the end off and reconnected it and it started. Happy days. The ammeter strangely is showing nothing and doesn’t change. Wonder what the problem is with that. I’ve got it wired with negative to earth. Does that mean that it has been converted as it starts? I haven’t got a radio in it.
Thanks again
Paul.
