Trafficator issue and headlights switch

Hi all, only just joined the club. I have a 1946 Austin 8, and it is in good running order. I have a couple of jobs to tackle initially, and hope some of you will point me in the right direction. With regards to the headlights, when I less the foot switch inside the car, it actually switches the lights off and I can figure, why I can’t always turn them back on. I’m not sure if I have a fault. I can hear a click sometimes. The lights are quite dim. Secondly, the traffic a tors are not working, but when I collected the car they worked fine. Is there something that I can check or is there something obvious that I’m missing.
