    Hi all the guy that is rebuilding my 1950 Austin A40 Devon 1200cc engine needs to know how much the valves open in the head as he is putting new valve seats, guides and fitting proper valve stem seals, hope someone here knows.

    I’m not sure why he would need to know how much the valves open – as long as he is using valves of the right size, the correct pushrods and has adjusted the tappets correctly, surely that  would be all he needs to know, wouldn’t it?
