    Hi folks.

I am restoring /rebuilding a 1954 Austin Somerset using parts from a donor car. The front wheels are not parallel with the front measurement more than 1 inch wider than the rear measurement. I fitted track rods from the donor car. Are track rods handed and if equal length? I have tried to adjust the cross tube without success. Any advice very welcome and much appreciated. Thanks. Tony. When you there is one inch difference are you measuring the distance between the front of the front wheels and the rear of the front wheels?
The only adjustment is carried out by the front track rod which links the steering arm on the o/s to the steering idler on the near side.
This track rod should have a left hand thread on one end and a right hand thread on the other therefore turning the tube should lengthen or shorten the track rod to enable you to obtain the correct toe in measurement.
You stated that you tried to adjust the cross tube without success, what do you mean?
You can give me a ring if you wish.
I am in the UK. West Midlands

The distance between the two ball joint centres on the centre track rod is about 595mm
