Hello,
In September 2025, I put my Hereford into dry storage, as usal, to overwinter.
At the end of March 2026, I planned to bring it out of ‘hibernation’, and get the engine running. This above routine I had done before, for three years, without issue.
However, this time, having cleaned plugs and points, checked plug gaps, checked for spark, checked oil, water and fuel…I tried to start the car, fully expecting it to start easily.
The engine did not start/attempt to start..but did backfire on several occasions.
Suspecting fuel starvation, I removed the air filter, and sprayed Easy Start directly into the carburettor. The car did not start/attempt to start…but did backfire on several occasions.
Wondering what I have done wrong?…any advice gratefully received
