I am searching for the source of misalignment of the front bumper, right wing, and bonnet on my 1951 A40 Devon.  In the attached pictures, one can see the pink painted bumper brackets are bent.  I do not have a reference to whether these brackets are supposed to look like this, or are they supposed to be straight.

Can someone verify for me if these brackets are supposed to be straight?Front bumper brackets

The dumb iron is definitely bent, as is the mounting bracket welded to the chassis. Compare it to the other bracket/dumb iron on the other side of the car. Looks though it has had a good thump there in the past. You will need a bit of heat to straighten the bracket; hopefully the chassis itself is not bent.

Thank you for the reply, Bruce.  I’ll take off the bolted part from each chassis rail and “heat & beat” them back to straight.  I can also correct the welded parts by the same method.

I was unsure if these brackets were supposed to be straight or set to a specific curve.

PS.  I didn’t post the picture of the other bracket.  Both have the same bends.
