As I said in your previous post, the block of the Somerset engine, although B series, is not the same as the MGB block, so camshaft will not fit. It is possible to fit a complete 1622 or 1800 engine to a Somerset with some modifications, but it is not a 5 minute job. I think there is an article on here as to what is involved.
A standard Somerset engine, in good order, should give adequate performance for the vehicle in most circumstances.
