The situation with door handles takes a ton of patience. I found that it’s best to remove the door upholstery and undo the screw in the end of the square handle boss and pull the handle out. The boot handle is a bit more tricky. First – take out the four screws that hold the lock mechanism in place from the inside. Second – spray the entire lock insides with penetrating oil and leave it for a day or so. Third- apply pressure from all sides to loosen the handle. You may have to loose-install the screws to get enough purchase. Don’t forget the handle’s been in place for well over 60 years and likely seized with rust. That’s the way I did my Devon.
